Yashvi is only 1.6 years old. She was diagnosed with Tricuspid Atresia. Even after her birth, till a few months, there were no major symptoms that hinted at her critical heart condition.
It was only recently when her cold and cough weren’t getting cured, that her parents got worried and decided to take her to a private hospital for a check-up. The doctors informed the parents that she has a hole in her heart and surgery would be required. The parents were shocked as they had never anticipated the problem to be of this magnitude.Scared and confused, they approached several doctors and unfortunately, each one of them responded with the same answer. Her father was under a lot of pressure as all the doctors had advised them to the surgery. Even though he is working, his salary often goes into taking care of household expenditures, leaving him with no savings. Luckily, on one of their visits to a hospital, they were informed about Dr. Vikas Kohli. The family visited the centre immediately to gather more information about her situation.
After some tests, Dr. Kohli counselled them and very patiently explained to them the procedure and way forward. Since Yashvi had Tricuspid Atresia, she would require a surgery called Glenn. The estimated cost was Rs. 3,75,000. The parents were in tears as they told Dr. Kohli about their financial condition and the ordeals they have been going through.Yashvi got registered under the CHF HRIDAAN programme. she needs the procedure on an urgent basis to avert any possible adversity. The parents were unable to raise the whole funds.
With CHF efforts his funding was arranged with the funding support of Concentrix, Yashvi was operated and her surgery was successfully done. She has been visiting our centre for post-surgery check-ups and is doing great. She is currently playing and living like a typical healthy child.
