8 months 21 days Navya a patient with down syndrome was born in Ghaziabad, Delhi. When Navya was just 1 and half month old she got pneumonia and started having shortness of breath. Her parents extremely worried about it, took her to Chacha Nehru hospital which took lot of time finally, the doctor suggest for ECHO test as he suspected the child is showing sign of CHD. His father Mr. Allauddin has been working as a daily wage earner to support his family. But coming from a marginalized background family it was quite difficult for his father to arrange money for her daughter’s treatment. Navya’s father had restlessly sought to find a viable treatment but most of her endeavors have ended in disappointment. In Govt hospitals, it will take a long time and in private hospitals, they tried to contact but the treatment prices were high so finally, looking at the financial condition of the family Chacha Nehru Hospital refer her to Child Heart Foundation. They reached CHF five months before, Dr. Vikas Kohli diagnosed her and it was found that Navya has Large VSD. Her intervention needs VSD Closure and the estimated cost is Rs. 3,75,000/-. The request was made by her parents for financial assistance and soon, the CHF team managed to arranged funds for Navya’s treatment. Navya’s got her surgery done in 23rdAugust’2021 at Apollo hospital and was successfully discharged on 30th Aug’2021. The patient has made exceptionally good progress and recovery from the surgery.
Navya’s father said, it was gratifying to see her go home safely all that happens only because of CHf and Dr. Kohli
