Baby of Silky is just two months old. Since day one, he has been facing health issues. In fact, he was just one day old when he had to be hospitalized because of some health problems. After he was discharged and brought home, one of the early symptoms that the parents noticed was the sound in his breathing. On the third day, he was admitted to a hospital again in Kashipur. The doctors referred them to another hospital in Bareilly where the checkups were done. The reports, however, were normal.
Since the beginning, he had digestion issues and would often vomit. The family started getting worried as he was not getting better. It was only after the echo, that the problem was detected. Till then, all the reports were normal. When the doctors informed them about his heart problem, the parents were in shock, and it took them a while to process the information. The parents were miserable as all this was happening too fast and the baby was just a few days old.
Luckily, one of their relatives already knew Dr. Vikas Kohli and suggested the parents connect with him. They contacted Child Heart Foundation and were called for a few tests. Dr. Vikas Kohli after carrying out some tests counselled the parents. They were told that the child has TAPVD for which TAPVD Repair surgery needs to be performed. The estimated cost of the treatment is Rs. 4,00,000 and unfortunately, given the family’s economic condition, they won’t be able to bear the expenditure. The CHF team has registered them and would help them with funds. The baby needs the surgery, and the family is looking desperately for some hope. Just when it was needed his surgery was done and now he is discharged.
Baby of Silky is healthy and happy. The team recently was updated that he has shown remarkable improvement. The team has spoken to his parents who are exhilarated as they say all their worries and concern have been put to rest.‘ My biggest concern and priority were my child’s health, and his condition was making us all nervous and anxious. I was scared but from the first time I met Dr. Kohli, I knew we could trust him. He gave us so much confidence and optimism, that we know our child was in safe hands. Thanks, CHF team, we are grateful’ said the Mother.
