Advika is a smiling and friendly baby who is only three-months-old. She is already struggling with health issues that need immediate attention. The family is residing in Delhi, and she is the first and undoubtedly, the most pampered child of the clan.
Her parents were really looking forward to her arrival and had not even remotely anticipated any of the ordeals that they are currently going through. She was born in July 2021 and till three months, there were no signs and symptoms.
Her problems started with Pneumonia. The family, concerned and worried, took her to a doctor who prescribed a few medicines. There was a temporary relief but again, she was down with pneumonia. The parents got scared because this was the second time in less than a week that she had pneumonia which was unusual. The same doctor asked them to get some tests done, including echo. The reports confirmed that there is a hole in her heart that needs attention.
The family consulted a few doctors and even spoke to some of their relatives, friends to get some guidance to navigate through this tragedy. The financial situation was also a huge matter of concern for the parents as they have been going through a difficult phase. Luckily, they got to know about Child Heart Foundation and that Hridaan is one such project providing financial assistance. They immediately met with Dr. Kohli who confirmed that she has DILV, PAH, and would need PA band.
The estimated cost is around 2,80,000, and the family has been struggling to arrange money for the treatment. Given that there is a paucity of time and Advika needs surgery on an urgent basis, the team has been trying to raise funds for her on priority. Her situation was critical and the surgery was the immediate solution. Immediately, she was registered with us and her fundraising was started immediately. Our donor came forward and help us with her required funds and soon her surgery was done.
She is now discharged from the hospital and healing well. She will be visiting us for her post surgery check up soon.
